My work responds more to experiences then my environment. I am very interested in the human body; both it's biology and aesthetic form as well as it's more abstract connotations and meanings. More specifically, I am interested in the body as a whole. In my work I explore the idea of the body as a container of memory, emotion and identity. I am interested in how the body influences the way we are viewed, and view the world. My work takes on feminist issues such as the representation of women in popular culture, and fine art. In my work I seek ways to express the selves of women through their bodies in their postures, environments, and expressions. I seek to present the nude body in such a way that evokes a sense of humanity and nostalgia for the precious and sacred.
Anna does much of her painting work by commission. All canvases are custom ordered to any size. The cost is based on the size
